THE APPROACH
How We Made It Happen
Here’s how we approached it.
01
Data to Help Drive Change
The Council tracks participation and license purchasing trends to help state and federal agencies drive recruitment, retention, and reactivation programs for hunting and shooting sports.
02
Breaking Through Barriers
One of the Council’s main goals is to help dispel common misconceptions about hunting and shooting sports — educating the public on the diversity, family-friendly activities, and positive impact on wildlife.
03
Keepers of an Active Community
CAHSS built the R3 Community as a place where agencies, nonprofits, and industry professionals share projects, success stories, and lessons learned that protect hunting for future generations.
The STORY
Protecting the Great Outdoors for Future Generations
The Council’s mission is to facilitate the promotion and growth of hunting and shooting sports and the education of the public on the contributions hunters and shooters make toward wildlife conservation. Hunters and shooting sports enthusiasts provide 80 percent of funding for all wildlife species. Since 1937, hunters and target shooters have been the primary source of funding for wildlife conservation through license fees and an excise tax on sporting goods.

Migrating an established website to a new design and host is one of the highest-risk projects in web development. Content, SEO equity, community features, and data integrations all need to transfer cleanly — and the Council couldn’t afford downtime or broken experiences for their agency partners. We handled the full migration — redesigning the site to better surface research data and participation trends, building the R3 Community hub where agencies and nonprofits collaborate, and ensuring every detail was on point. The result was a seamless transition that even impressed an accomplished webmaster.
“Transitioning an existing website to a new design and host is never an easy task. Adam and the team at MassMonopoly made the entire process painless and even enjoyable. As an accomplished webmaster myself, I have found every detail in our new site to be on point. I highly recommend M2 for your future projects — you won’t regret your decision.”
